MESSAGE

Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education came into existence in 1969 through an Act No.14 of 1968. The Board is an institution dealing with prescription of syllabi, courses of instructions and text books for school education in Himachal Pradesh besides conducting examinations based on such courses. At present, the Board conducts examinations for the 8th, 10th, Plus One and Plus Two classes.  In addition, departmental examinations like JBT, TTC and PVTC are also being conducted by the Board.  As many as 6 lac candidates annually appear in the examinations conducted by the Board.

The management of such a big institution is a stupendous task in the absence of an established information structure.  Information, in the present era is power and good information system re-enforces commitment to the quality education.

The fast transmission of timely, precise and adequate information can help the institution in decision making at every level in implementing the policies and future developmental plans.

Everyone in the society is directly or indirectly linked with Board of School Education.  The access to the information is the fundamental and democratic right of every person.  I am happy to say that the Board of School Education has launched its own website through National Informatics Centre to fulfil the Board’s commitment to the society (students-teachers-parents).

Comprehensive information about the Board of School Education is available globally with the launch of this website.  Anybody, sitting in any part of the world has the privilege to access the information about the activities of Board of School Education at anytime while sitting at his place.

The Board of School Education’s website has been able to provide all the information to the students relating to their results with detail marks.  In addition to getting results, the students have been able to get the admission forms, duplicate certificate forms, migration forms, centre change forms, name/date of birth change forms, re-checking/re-evaluation forms, scholarship form, date sheet, Fee schedule, examination centres list and all other forms relating to the Board.  The teachers have been able to get the duty forms, centre creation forms and the list of affiliated institutions from the Board’s website.  Private institutions in the state have been able to get the forms for affiliation of their institutions and the list of already affiliated institutions.

I congratulate every one in the Board of School Education and National Informatics centre for this venture.

I hope that this website will be useful globally.
